Central Region

This region is most famous for Outdoor Experiences including iceberg and whale watching, salmon angling, hiking and the vast Terra Nova National Park.

Attractions include La Scie, known as the “iceberg capital”; the Dorset Soapstone Quarry National Historic Site at Fleur-de-Lys; the Salmonid Interpretation Centre and Loggers Life Museum at Grand Falls-Windsor; the Train Park at Lewisporte; the Boethuk Intrepretation Centre at Boyd’s Cove; the New World Island area at Twillingate and Farewell with ferry service to Fogo Island; the North Atlantic Aviation Museum at Gander; the Banting Memorial Intrepretive Centre at Musgrave Harbour and the white sand beaches of Eastport.

Bordered on the north and south by rugged coastlines, the Central Region encompasses the heart of the island.
